R&D Engineer Internship
To help us build and optimise our second prototype, we are looking for curious and motivated students or young graduates, interested in joining the team in the context of an internship or a Lab immersion. Our fields of operation are mainly : thermodynamics, drying physics and structure engineering.
Project title: Development and optimization of a solar seaweed dryer
Project description
We are looking for technical support in the development of our second prototype. The goal is to implement new features together to increase the efficiency and capacity of our dryer. We are looking for someone who could support us on at least two of the following activities:
- General prototyping :
- Experimental iteration to improve our prototype, gain insights on seaweed drying and associated challenges.
- Thermodynamics :
- Drying kinetics : Temperature, RH and airflux analysis using specific sensors.
- Solar radiation management : Light absorption, air heat transfer, collector geometry and material.
- Airflux management :
- CFD : Predict, analyse and optimise the airflow inside the dryer and solar collector
- Structure engineering :
- Dryer components assembly and optimisation : link the different hardware elements and sensors.
- Biomass characterisation :
- Analysis of various parameters of the dried biomass, such as water content.
More than simple technical support, we are looking for a proactive profile able to embrace the bigger picture, work autonomously and take initiatives, with the potential perspective of integrating the project as a full member after the internship.
Starting date: As soon as possible
Project duration: 3-6 months
Location: Lausanne region
Activity: 20-100%
Salary: 500chf/month at 20%. To be discussed at 100%.
